Himalayan butter tea: so intriguing. The one time I ordered it in an NYC restaurant – a charming place that overlooks the sunken tracks of the Q train and used to specialize in “Tibetan sushi” – a cafeteria mug of Lipton black tea with a pat of butter on top was served.
We can do better than this.
Goal: another bulletproof blender drink in the style of FL041’s golden milk
Yield: 1
1 cup oat milk
whole leaf black tea + chai spices to taste (you have Will’s house blend in your kit)
2 teaspoons butter or coconut oil
2 teaspoons honey or other sweetener
Bring the oat milk to a boil, then add the tea and spices and simmer for 10 minutes. Strain into a blender and add the butter and honey. Blend until frothy.
